چکیده

An efficient method such as ranked set sampling is used for estimating the population parameters when actual observation measurement expensive and complicated. In this paper, we consider problem of two-parameter xgamma (TPXG) distribution under well simple random design. Various estimation methods, including weighted least-square estimator, maximum likelihood estimators, Cramer–von Mises, product spacings Anderson–Darling are considered. A comparison between with same number units, conducted using a simulation study in terms bias, mean squared errors, efficiency estimators. The merit estimators examined real data bank customers. results indicate that estimations more than competitor considered study.

Estimation of Variance of Normal Distribution using Ranked Set Sampling

Introduction     In some biological, environmental or ecological studies, there are situations in which obtaining exact measurements of sample units are much harder than ranking them in a set of small size without referring to their precise values. In these situations, ranked set sampling (RSS), proposed by McIntyre (1952), can be regarded as an alternative to the usual simple random sampling ...

Estimation of Parameters in a Two-parameter Exponential Distribution Using Ranked Set Sample

In situations where the experimental or sampling units in a study can be easily ranked than quantified, McIntyre (1952, Aust. J. Agric. Res., 3, 385-390) proposed that the mean of n units based on a ranked set sample (RSS) be used to estimate the population mean, and observed that it provides an unbiased estimator with a smaller variance compared to a simple random sample (SRS) of the same size...

Design Based Estimation of Finite Population Mean in Ranked Set Sampling

Abstract. This Article introduce method of ranked set sampling with replacement (RSSWR) in finite population and express how to computing samples of inclusion probability for this method. The Horvitz-Thompson and Hansen-Hurwtz estimators using auxiliary variables introduce for this design and use 2011-12 Urban Households Income and Income and Expenditure survey data, gathered for Tehran by stat...

Estimation of Gumbel Parameters under Ranked Set Sampling

Consider the MLEs (maximum likelihood estimators) of the parameters of the Gumbel distribution using SRS (simple random sample) and RSS (ranked set sample) and the MOMEs (method of moment estimators) and REGs (regression estimators) based on SRS. A comparison between these estimators using bias and MSE (mean square error) was performed using simulation. It appears that the MLE based on RSS can ...

Estimation of a parameter of Morgenstern type bivariate exponential distribution by ranked set sampling

Ranked set sampling is applicable whenever ranking of a set of sampling units can be done easily by a judgement method or based on the measurement of an auxiliary variable on the units selected. In this work, we consider ranked set sampling, in which ranking of units are done based on measurements made on an easily and exactly measurable auxiliary variable X which is correlated with the study v...
